Chase Park has been elected as the next president of KAPN(Korean American Professional Network).
Park was unanimously chosen as the president during the KAPN boarding meeting held Thursday, July 26th at Korea House. Chase Park will begin his 2-year term in January 2019.
Park is currently working to recruit and meet with professional colleagues who have expressed an interest or have a desire to serve on the KAPN leadership team for the next couple of years to fulfill some of the most critical roles and execute the KAPN mission.
Park is looking to fill leadership roles in Finance, Marketing, and Operations. If anyone is interested in joining the team, contact Chase Park at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Park’s vision for KAPN for the next couple of years is for the organization to continue to connect and bring Korean-American professionals together, and work to become the premier DFW organization for professional networking and leadership development.
During his tenure, Park plans to continue many of the great initiatives KAPN currently offers, such as the student/intern mentoring programs, professional speaker series events, youth seminars, and networking opportunities, as well as look to provide more opportunities for the members to leverage each other to develop and create mutually beneficial professional relationships.
Park also plans to look at ways to provide more beneficial content for members on the KAPN homepage, www.kapn.org.
Currently, KAPN has an overall membership of around 80-100 members. There are nine members on the current Board of Directors, and six members that make up the Executive Leadership Team.
The core mission of KAPN is to develop a strong network of professionals with a desire to better the community through leadership and commitment to mentorship.
Some notable events KAPN held this year were the Professional Speaker Series panel discussion on Artificial Intelligence at Texas Instruments and Happy Hour Networking event at Yasijang Bar in Carrollton.
KAPN will introduce a new format for this year's Youth Empowerment Seminar to be held on Oct. 20th. There will be an opportunity for high school students to apply for a monetary scholarship.
